Leoni Wiring Systems de Paraguay

Leoni Wiring Systems de Paraguay S.R.L. is the local subsidiary of the German group Leoni, a global supplier of energy and data management solutions and manufacturer of wiring systems. Its industrial plant was inaugurated in 2015 in San Lorenzo, Central department, with an investment of close to 12 million euros. The factory is dedicated to the manufacture of electrical wiring harnesses for the automotive industry, supplying automakers of brands such as Peugeot and Renault. It operates under the maquila regime, with its production destined for export to the markets of Brazil and Argentina, and works in three shifts 24 hours a day. The plant employs around 800 people in the country; upon opening it hired a first group of some 100 workers -several trained in Brazil and Mexico- with a projection to add hundreds of additional positions. Leoni is part of the auto parts hub that takes advantage of the Maquila Law in Paraguay, contributing to the country's insertion into the Mercosur automotive value chain.
