About Petropar (Petróleos Paraguayos)
Petropar (Petróleos Paraguayos) is Paraguay's state-owned hydrocarbon and gas import and distribution company, dedicated to the commercialization of fuels and biofuels throughout the national territory. It is Paraguay's largest individual importer, having led the national ranking in 2022 with USD 377 million in imports. It operates the country's only refinery — the Villa Elisa Refinery with 7,500-barrel capacity — an LNG plant, a biodiesel plant, and storage facilities totaling approximately 400,000 m³. It also produces sugarcane ethanol at its Mauricio José Troche Industrial Plant in Guairá.
