About Hotel del Lago
Hotel del Lago is the first hotel in Paraguay's interior and one of the oldest in the Río de la Plata region, founded in 1888 by German immigrant Guillermo Weiler on the shores of Lake Ypacaraí. With architecture inspired by the luxury seaside resorts of the French Côte d'Azur, the historic building has hosted personalities such as guitarist Agustín Pío Barrios, writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, President Charles de Gaulle, President Franklin D. Roosevelt and numerous Paraguayan heads of state. Today it operates as a 22-room boutique hotel, each room dedicated to and decorated in honor of a famous Latin American guest. The hotel offers an outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi, massage services and a buffet American breakfast each morning.
