About Biblioteca y Archivo Central del Congreso Nacional
The Library and Central Archive of the National Congress was created by Law 3,436 of 2008 as a technical body supporting the legislature. Its services are open to the general public, and the Congress Central Archive works in the same building.
The building, designed by architect Carlos Giménez, opened on 28 June 2016 at Río Ypané and Av. Costanera in Asunción. Besides the library, it hosts cultural activities such as concerts by the Congress Symphony Orchestra.
