About Universidad Central del Paraguay (UCP)
Universidad Central del Paraguay (UCP) was created by Law No. 3,153 in 2006. Its rectorate is at Avda. Brasilia 1158, Asunción, and, according to its official website, it operates in the departments of Amambay, Alto Paraná and Central.
CONES (the National Council of Higher Education) approved and authorized it in 2018, and recognizes 27 approved programs, including Medicine. Its faculties include Engineering, Law, Business Sciences, Psychology, Dentistry and Health Sciences.
Its offering includes 6-year in-person Medicine and 12 online programs, among them Law, Business Administration, Accounting, Psychology, and the two newest: Banking and Finance, and Human Resources Management.
According to its official website, besides the rectorate it has two branches: Ciudad del Este (Avda. Mcal. Estigarribia, B° Boquerón; phone (061) 501-462/3) and Pedro Juan Caballero, on the Brazilian border (Calle Naciones Unidas No. 450; phone (033) 527-3242). CONES approved moving the Pedro Juan Caballero programs to a campus in Asunción; according to ABC Color, the offering there returns from 2027.
