Cambios Yrendague S.A. is a currency exchange house headquartered in Ciudad del Este. According to its own site, it began operating in July 1998, authorized by the Central Bank of Paraguay. Its name, "Yrendague," comes from Guaraní and means "place where water used to be."
The company states it has a Manual for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, plus procedure manuals and a code of ethics. Its shareholder structure consists of Lucas Mereles and Miguel Ramírez, each holding a 50% stake, both Paraguayan nationals. Besides the head office, it operates auxiliary tellers at Shopping Vendome, Km 4 on Avenida San Blas, Avenida San José, Nueva Esperanza, Hernandarias and Puerto Campestre.
