Cofan

Cofan Ltda. is the Cooperative of the Armed Forces of the Nation, founded on December 27, 1935 by the then Army Commander José Félix Estigarribia together with 18 more members of the Armed Forces of Paraguay. It was originally known as Cooperativa Militar y Naval Sociedad Anónima, and was a pioneer of the national cooperative movement, starting out with an initial capital of three thousand strong pesos (pesos fuertes). It currently brings together more than 14,000 members and offers credit, savings, card and housing loan services, along with solidarity programs for its associates. Its head office is located at the corner of Benjamín Constant and 14 de Mayo.
