La Paraguaya de Seguros y Reaseguros

La Paraguaya S.A. de Seguros y Reaseguros appears in the registry of authorized insurers published by the Superintendency of Insurance, part of the Central Bank of Paraguay. According to its own website, it "was founded in November 1889 under the name La Paraguaya Sociedad Anónima de Seguros Marítimos, Fluviales, Terrestres y contra Incendio," taking its current name on July 1, 1905. The site describes it as "the oldest insurance company in the country."

Its head office is in Asunción, on Washington street between Av. España and De la Residenta, with an office in Santa Rita, Alto Paraná. Per its site, "the company is authorized to operate in the property and life insurance sections, meeting the minimum capital requirement set by Insurance Law N° 827 for both sections."
