Cellshop Paraguay

Cellshop Importados Paraguay, operated by Grupo Cell Motion S.A., is one of the country's largest imported-goods department stores. It was born in 2003 in Ciudad del Este thanks to Jorbel Jacson Griebeler, a Brazilian entrepreneur who crossed the Friendship Bridge from Foz do Iguaçu. With just 12 square meters in Shopping Vendôme and four employees, he started by selling mobile phone accessories.

Over the first decade, the company evolved alongside technology: it added cellphone sales, distributed the BLU brand throughout the border zone, and became one of Paraguay's largest mobile phone distributors. By 2015–2016 it opened its iconic flagship in Shopping Ibiza: a 5-floor, 7,000 m² building with 10 departments and over 250,000 products.

Today the Ciudad del Este store averages 15,000 daily visitors—50% Brazilian, 45% Argentine—making Cellshop one of South America's most important cross-border shopping destinations. Its departments cover technology (smartphones, notebooks, drones, TVs up to 85"), perfumery and cosmetics (Dior, Lancôme, Calvin Klein), imported beverages, sportswear (Nike, Under Armour), and an outlet. It is an official Apple and DJI distributor, and has developed proprietary brands including JOOG Tech and JOOG Sports.

In 2024 it opened a branch in Asunción, and in September 2025 inaugurated a 5,000 m² mega-store in Pedro Juan Caballero (Shopping Dubai), creating 200 new jobs. The company earned Great Place to Work certification in 2023 and employs approximately 1,000 people.
