Loma Plata

About La Delicia

La Delicia is a restaurant set up in Loma Plata, an option for a meal while passing through this Central Chaco town, along the route of the Trans-Chaco Highway.

Loma Plata is the center of Menno Colony, the first Mennonite colony founded in the Paraguayan Chaco in 1927 by families who arrived from Canada. The town lies along the Trans-Chaco Highway, the road toward Bolivia, in a hot, dry region of thorn-scrub vegetation whose economy revolves around the dairy and cattle production of the Mennonite cooperatives.
