About Sukiyaki Restaurant
Sukiyaki Restaurante is a true pioneer of Japanese gastronomy in Paraguay and South America. It opened its doors in 1970 in downtown Asunción, on Constitución near Pettirossi, and has since maintained an exceptional standard of authenticity that earned it in 2021 the recognition of Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as an Ambassador of Goodwill for Japanese Cuisine. This award distinguishes restaurants outside Japan that genuinely promote Japanese flavors and techniques. The restaurant is family-owned by a Japanese family that keeps the tradition alive with products imported directly from Japan. The menu ranges from sukiyaki and shabu-shabu to sushi, sashimi, ramen and udon. The service is warm and ceremonious, very appropriate for a first approach to Japanese cuisine in South America.
