Cooperativa Multiactiva Neuland

Mariano Roque Alonso, Central

About this business

The Cooperativa Multiactiva Neuland Ltda. was founded in 1947 by Mennonite settlers refugees from the former Soviet Union who established the Neuland Colony, in the department of Boqueron, in the Paraguayan Chaco. It is a multi-active agricultural and livestock cooperative, with its central headquarters in Filadelfia/Neuland colony. Its most important industrial unit in the central region is the Frigorifico Neuland, located in the Santa Librada neighborhood of Mariano Roque Alonso, which began operating in September 2001; it later added a slaughter plant in Villa Hayes, inaugurated in 2008. The slaughterhouse processes and markets beef under international standards, with authorization to export to demanding markets. After decades of experience in cattle breeding and fattening, the cooperative integrates the entire chain: primary production, slaughter, industrialization and marketing. In addition to the meat business, it carries out agricultural, service and commercial activities for its members. It is considered one of the most productive and modern Mennonite colonies of the Chaco, although the youngest of the three traditional ones.
