Fujikura Automotive Paraguay

Fujikura Automotive Paraguay S.A. is the subsidiary of the Japanese multinational Fujikura, established in 2011 in the Free Trade Zone of Ciudad del Este, department of Alto Parana. The company is dedicated to the manufacture of electrical wiring and harnesses for vehicles, producing mainly for automobiles assembled in Brazil, especially of the Volkswagen brand, which it supplies exclusively for the Brazilian market. It operates within the framework of export incentive regimes (free trade zone and maquila), with its production destined entirely for abroad. It has two production units in the Global Free Trade Zone: a Unit I of about 2,000 m2 and a Unit II of approximately 12,000 m2. It employs more than 1,000 workers, of whom around 55% are women, positioning itself as one of the main generators of industrial employment in the east of the country. In its first years of operation it has exported enough wiring for the manufacture of hundreds of thousands of vehicles, and has coordinated with the State on expansion plans and workforce training in Alto Parana.
