Industria Nacional de Cemento (INC)

The Industria Nacional de Cemento (INC) is the state-owned cement company of Paraguay, created in 1969. Its central offices are in Asuncion, at Tte. 2do. Jorge Alcorta corner of Avenida Fernando de la Mora. Its origins date back to 1949-1952, when the Vallemi plant -in the department of Concepcion- began operating, which after private difficulties was incorporated by the Paraguayan State. The INC operates an integrated cement plant in Vallemi, which has a clinker plant, and a grinding unit in Villeta. Its installed production capacity reaches up to some 100,000 bags per day, although its effective production has been around 40,000 bags per day and a processing of between 1,800 and 1,900 tons daily. The company supplies a significant portion of the national market -on the order of 37%- and takes advantage of the navigability of the Paraguay River to transport its production from Vallemi. As a public company, it plays a strategic role in supplying cement for public works and construction in the country.
