Lactolanda

Lactolanda is the flagship brand of the Cooperativa de Productores de Leche La Holanda Ltda., founded in June 1979 by settlers from the Sommerfeld and Bergthal Mennonite colonies. Its industrial plant is located on Route PY02 Km 215-220, in Juan Eulogio Estigarribia (Campo 9), department of Caaguazu. It is considered the largest dairy industry in the country: it processes more than 1,000,000 liters of milk per day and supplies about half of the national dairy production. Under the Lactolanda and Somberg brands it markets a wide line of milk, powdered milk, butter, cheeses, yogurts and desserts. With an investment of some US$ 30 million it inaugurated its second powdered milk plant in 2023, raising its processing capacity to 37,500 liters per hour. It prioritizes the domestic market and allocates its surpluses to export: its products -mainly powdered milk and butter- reach more than 20 countries, among them Brazil, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Tunisia, Georgia, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Its processes meet international standards of food quality and safety.
