Pomera Maderas

Pomera Maderas is a leading forest-industry company in the production of high-quality solid wood, a member of the Insud Group. Its Paraguayan operation has its industry -sawmill and remanufacturing plant- in the district of Hernandarias, department of Alto Parana. The company manages more than 32,000 forested hectares in the region (Corrientes, Misiones, Argentina, and Paraguay); in Paraguay its eucalyptus plantations are located in Hernandarias (Alto Parana) and in San Juan Nepomuceno (Caazapa), with around 4,500 hectares in each area. Its sawmill and remanufacturing industry produce some 45,000 m3 per year of dried and processed wood, oriented to the sawmilling industry. Pomera certifies its forest management and chain of custody under the international FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) standard, guaranteeing responsible management. It also develops a eucalyptus genetic improvement program considered a model worldwide, working on species such as Eucalyptus, Corymbia, Pinus and Grevillea, and it is recognized for having transformed the timber industry of Paraguay.
