Yguazú Cementos

Yguazu Cementos S.A. is a private Paraguayan cement company with mixed capital (national and foreign). It was born in the year 2000 as a cement importing company to supply a market with growing demand, and in 2014 it started up its integrated industrial plant in the city of Villa Hayes, department of Presidente Hayes, on the Transchaco Route Km 30.5. Its construction, with an investment of close to US$ 200 million, is considered the largest private industrial investment in the history of Paraguay. The plant has an installed production capacity of some 750,000 tons per year and manufactures cement with 100% Paraguayan raw materials and labor. It supplies more than 45% of the cement consumed in the country, positioning itself as one of the pillars of the national cement sector. The operation generates employment for around 350 people directly and indirectly, a figure that exceeds 500 during annual maintenance, and drives the development of the population of Villa Hayes.
