About Grupo Toyotoshi

Grupo Toyotoshi was founded by Don Naoyuki Toyotoshi, a Japanese immigrant who, after passing through Buenos Aires in 1960, built the first head office on the corner of Estrella and Juan O'Leary streets, in Asuncion, with an initial capital of about US$ 20,000. He began representing Toyota, facing in his beginnings the shortage of spare parts in the local market. In 1978 Transmar was born, when the founder offered himself as a shipping agent in Asuncion, integrating logistics into the business. With more than half a century of experience, Toyotoshi S.A. has become one of the most important private business conglomerates in Paraguay, representing large international companies such as Toyota Motor Corporation, Daihatsu Motor Company, Hino Motors, Sony Consumer Electronics, Bridgestone/Firestone and the shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines. In March 2022 it inaugurated its new head office on Avenida Mariscal Lopez corner of Gomez de Castro, in Asuncion, a nine-level building plus a terrace and two basements for more than 200 vehicles, with Toyota and Lexus showrooms, the result of an investment of US$ 22 million. The group is thus the official representative of Toyota and Lexus in Paraguay and a key player in the import of vehicles, consumer electronics and logistics services linked to foreign trade with Japan.
