INCAN – National Cancer Institute

INCAN (Instituto Nacional del Cáncer) is the specialized oncology hospital of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare of Paraguay, located on Ruta Mcal. Estigarribia km 22.5 in Capiatá, approximately 24 kilometers from Asunción. It is the main reference of the Paraguayan public system for cancer diagnosis and treatment, applying the free care policy in effect throughout the state health service network. It offers Clinical Oncology (chemotherapy), Radiation Oncology (radiotherapy) and Surgical Oncology (oncological surgery). INCAN manages the majority of breast cancer and other tumor cases in the Paraguayan public system. In 2026 a USD 8 million investment was announced for its most important modernization in four decades. For foreign residents in Paraguay who need low-cost oncological care, INCAN is the unavoidable public sector reference.
