About Salto Suizo Ecological Park

Salto Suizo Ecological Park is an adventure and nature destination nestled in the Ybytyruzú mountain range in Colonia Independencia, Guairá department, 38 km from Villarrica and 200 km from Asunción. Its main attraction is Salto Suizo, Paraguay's highest waterfall, with a 60-65 meter drop fed by the Santa Librada stream, surrounded by ancient trees up to 50 meters tall. A 1,000-meter trail through native forest, vines and bamboo leads to the falls. The park offers a full adventure tourism program: zip-lining, rappelling, tree-top walks, hiking and rock climbing. Accommodation options include luxury Swiss cabins, barrel lodges, hostel and camping areas. The park was founded in 1935 by Swiss settlers.
