About Ñacunday National Park

Ñacunday National Park, located in the Ñacunday district of Alto Paraná department, is a 2,000-hectare reserve whose main objective is protecting Salto Ñacunday, Paraguay's most important waterfall after the disappearance of the Guairá Falls. Salto Ñacunday measures 43 meters high by 70 meters wide and is popularly compared to a miniature version of Iguazú Falls. The park contains approximately 14 waterfalls and streams, intermediate forest with trees 15-20 meters tall and species including cedar, heart of palm and myrtaceae. Flora and fauna belong to the Upper Paraná Atlantic Forest ecosystem. A low-crowd nature destination, ideal for those seeking waterfalls without the masses.
