About Ybycuí National Park
Ybycuí National Park is Paraguay's most visited national park and one of the country's most important ecotourism destinations. Located 150 km from Asunción in the Paraguarí department, covering 5,000 hectares of protected subtropical forest. Its 13 waterfalls are its main attraction, with three open to the public: Salto Mina, Salto Guaraní and Salto Mbocaruzú, where swimming is possible in crystal-clear waters. The park also houses La Rosada ruins, the ancient 19th-century Ybycuí Iron Foundry destroyed during the War of the Triple Alliance, reconstructed as a historic-museum site. Excellent for hiking, birdwatching, camping and family picnics.
