About Francisco Caballero Álvarez

<p>Francisco Caballero Álvarez is a district in the department of Canindeyú, in northeastern Paraguay, whose name honors a figure from Paraguay's national history. The district is part of the territorial strip extending toward the border with Brazil, sharing the region's agricultural vocation with the rest of the department.</p><p>Soybeans and maize are the main crops in the area, in a regional context shaped by agricultural expansion and by the influence of communities of Brazilian origin that settled in Canindeyú during the final decades of the twentieth century.</p>
