About Simón Bolívar

Simón Bolívar is a district in the department of Caaguazú, in central-eastern Paraguay. Its name honors the Venezuelan liberator Simón Bolívar, a common denomination among communities that emerged during Paraguay's inland colonization processes of the twentieth century. The local economy revolves around agricultural production, with soybean and maize as the main crops, complemented by extensive cattle raising. The rural landscape of plains and secondary forests defines the character of this inland community within Caaguazú.
