Museo Militar del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional
The Ministry of National Defense's museum, created in 1939, with collections from the War of the Triple Alliance and the Chaco War, and rooms honoring Marshals López and Estigarribia.
Museo Monseñor Juan Sinforiano Bogarín
A museum of sacred art and history next to the Cathedral, housed in a mansion that was once Fulgencio Yegros's residence and a public jail under Francia; it displays the collection gathered by Monsignor Bogarín: Jesuit and Franciscan religious imagery, colonial furniture and historical objects.
Casa Bicentenario de la Música Agustín Pío Barrios
A house museum dedicated to guitarist and composer Agustín Pío Barrios "Mangoré," with original instruments, scores and wax-cylinder recordings; reopened on May 5, 2026 with new museography curated by Carlos Spatuzza and Lea Schvartzman.
Museo de la Estación Central del Ferrocarril Carlos Antonio López
Inaugural station of the first railway in South America (1861); today a themed museum with the first locomotive to arrive in the country, railcars, and objects from the railway era.
Museo Etnográfico Andrés Barbero
Founded in 1929 by Dr. Andrés Barbero; houses the country's most important archaeological and ethnographic collections on the indigenous peoples of Paraguay.
Museo de las Memorias: Dictadura y Derechos Humanos
Former headquarters of the feared "Técnica" (DNAT), a detention and torture center during the Stroessner dictatorship; today a museum and memory site on human rights.
Museo Casa de la Independencia
1772 colonial house where Paraguayan patriots planned the 1811 independence; a museum since 1965 with period furniture, documents, and objects.
Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes
Founded in 1909 based on the collection of Juan Silvano Godoy; brings together more than 650 works of Paraguayan and European art, including the Guarani baroque of the Jesuit missions.

Panteón Nacional de los Héroes
National mausoleum in neoclassical style, inspired by Les Invalides in Paris; holds the remains of Marshal Francisco Solano López, Carlos Antonio López, and other Paraguayan founding fathers.
Loma San Jerónimo Neighborhood
Asunción's oldest neighborhood, declared Historic Heritage and Tourist Neighborhood in 2013. Famous for its colorful houses, murals and Paraguay River views.
Palacio de López
Seat of the Paraguayan Executive branch since 1894; neoclassical mansion begun in 1857 for Francisco Solano López, bombarded during the War of the Triple Alliance. Only the exterior can be visited.

Bi-national Paraguayan-German institute founded in 1958, with certified language courses and cultural programming as a Goethe-Zentrum.
Centro Paraguayo Japonés (CPJ)
Municipal institution for Paraguayan-Japanese cultural cooperation, with auditoriums, exhibition halls, and a program of workshops and courses.
Centro Cultural Paraguayo Americano (CCPA)
Bi-national Paraguay-United States cultural institution active since 1942, home to the Teatro de las Américas.
Centro Cultural de España Juan de Salazar
Cultural center under Spanish cooperation (AECID), with a library, museum, cultural café, and active artistic programming since 1976.
Centro Cultural Citi (Citibank)
Citi's corporate cultural center in a restored Art Deco mansion in Villa Morra, with free programming since 1999.
Alianza Francesa de Asunción
Bi-national French-Paraguayan center offering language courses and an active cultural program across several venues of its own, including the Molière Hall.
Centro Cultural Manzana de la Rivera
Restored colonial city block that brings together a museum, library, gallery, café, and theatrical venues in the heart of Asunción's historic center.
Centro Cultural de la República El Cabildo

Teatro Guaraní
Teatro Guaraní is one of Asunción's largest venues, seating close to 800 in its main hall, plus a smaller room, the Café Concert, for about 80 people. It hosts theater, music and institutional events.
Teatro de las Américas CCPA
Teatro de las Américas is the performance hall of the Centro Cultural Paraguayo Americano (CCPA), seating 293. It hosts theater, music, film and academic events year-round.
Teatro Latino
Theater hall founded in 1984, with seating for 390, dedicated to theater, dance, concerts, and film.
Teatro Arlequín
A theater founded in 1982 by José Luis Ardissone in a converted former discotheque; with 350+ productions over 40+ years, it served as a cultural resistance space under the dictatorship and today also runs an acting school.
Sala Molière (Alianza Francesa de Asunción)
Historic 232-seat theater hall within the Alliance Française of Asunción, open since 1979 and renovated in 2010.
Teatro Municipal Ignacio A. Pane
Asunción's oldest theater, in neoclassical style, with nearly 180 years of history and seating for hundreds of spectators.

Art gallery with more than three decades of history in the Mburicaó neighborhood, directed by Lilian Ojeda; runs its own frame-making workshop and is an active ASGAPA member.
