Cargill Paraguay

Cargill has been present in Paraguay since 1978, carrying out origination, processing, storage and marketing activities of cereals and oilseeds, as well as the production of protein meals and vegetable oils. With nearly five decades in the country, it has positioned itself as one of the largest exporting companies in Paraguay and a leader in the agro-industrial sector, exporting mainly soybeans and their derivatives to international markets. The company has significant infrastructure: a corporate office in Asuncion and a soybean processing plant in Minga Guazu (Alto Parana) that processes some 3,000 tons of soybeans per day, plus 38 reception, processing, storage, elevation and marketing units distributed throughout the country. To support its export operations, Cargill operates its own port on the Parana River -port Paloma- and another in partnership on the Paraguay River -port Union-, in addition to its own shipping logistics with a fleet of barges and tugboats that takes advantage of the Paraguay-Parana waterway. The company directly employs around 560 people. As part of the global agro-industrial giant Cargill, the Paraguayan operation integrates the country into the international grain marketing chains, being one of the main players in the ranking of soybean and byproduct exporters of Paraguay.
