Louis Dreyfus Company Paraguay (LDC)

Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) operates in Paraguay along the entire agro-industrial value chain: it produces, originates, processes, markets and distributes oilseeds, cereals, seeds, fertilizers and agricultural inputs. The multinational, part of the centenary "Casa Dreyfus", has established itself as one of the country's main exporters of grains, oilseeds and their byproducts, ranking among the three largest exporters of cereals and oilseeds with an annual volume on the order of one million tons of grain. Among its industrial assets, its participation in C.A.I.A.S.A. (Complejo Agroindustrial Angostura S.A.) stands out, one of the largest processing plants in Paraguay, with a processing capacity of around 1.5 million tons per year, and MERCO (Mercantil Comercial S.A.), its processing plant in Caaguazu with a capacity of more than 180,000 tons of oilseeds per year. LDC also operates elevators and storage silos in localities such as Curuguaty, Tuna and Pozuelo. For the transport of raw materials by the waterway, in 2007 it created Logico Paraguay, a river transport subsidiary that represented an investment of US$ 50 million. With central offices in Asuncion, the accumulated investments of Louis Dreyfus Company in the country exceed US$ 250 million, integrating Paraguayan agricultural production into global commodity markets.
