About Frigorífico Neuland
Frigorífico Neuland belongs to the Cooperativa Multiactiva Neuland Ltda., a Mennonite cooperative founded in 1947 by German pioneers in the Paraguayan Chaco. The cooperative decided to build its own meatpacking plant in the late 1990s to add value to its members' livestock chain, beginning operations in September 2001. The plant is distinguished by guaranteeing 100% traceability of cattle origin, coming largely from the cooperative members' own Chaco fields. It exports primarily to Chile (20 cuts from the whole animal), Germany (exclusive premium cuts), Russia (industrial meats), Japan, and other European and African markets. 40% of total production is exported, with Chile as the priority destination.
