About Munich Bar & Grill
Munich is one of the most singular historic venues in downtown Asunción, with a history dating back to around 1920 when a family transformed their property into a German-style beer hall that later became the restaurant that exists today. The building has preserved its original early 20th-century architecture, making it a destination for both gastronomy and heritage tourism. The menu maintains the imprint of German cuisine: sauerkraut with sausages, various sausage varieties, pork knuckle, baked potatoes, winter soups and the essential draft beer. Over the years it also incorporated a creole grill and food-by-weight options, broadening its audience. The restaurant temporarily closed before the pandemic and reopened renovated, maintaining its identity as one of the few representatives of German gastronomy in Paraguay.
