About this business
Mall Excelsior was inaugurated on April 15, 1993 by its founder, Nicolas Bo, and has the historic merit of being the first shopping center in the country. It is located in the heart of downtown Asuncion, at the intersection of Chile and Manduvira streets, a location that integrates it into the commercial life of the historic center of the capital. The complex has 88 premises distributed over several levels, combining shopping, gastronomy and entertainment. Among its anchor services it includes four cinemas, a supermarket and a food court located on the third level, as well as prestigious international brands and national businesses. A distinctive attraction is the "Mall of Fame", a space in which illustrious national and international personalities have left their handprints in cement, in a sort of Paraguayan-style walk of celebrities. Its pioneer status, its central location with easy pedestrian access, and its mix of commerce, cinema and supermarket in a single vertical building distinguish it within the panorama of Asuncion shopping centers. Although over time larger-scale malls emerged on the outskirts, the Excelsior retains a symbolic role as the cradle of the shopping format in Paraguay and as a reference point of the downtown area.
