Regional Hospital of Ciudad del Este

The Regional Hospital of Ciudad del Este is the main public healthcare center in Alto Paraná department and one of the most important hospitals in Paraguay's interior. Operated by the Ministry of Public Health (MSPBS), it serves hundreds of thousands of patients from Ciudad del Este, Presidente Franco, Hernandarias, and surrounding areas. The hospital provides emergency services, general surgery, maternity care, neonatology, pediatrics, mastology, clinical laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy. In recent years it has undergone significant modernization works in emergency, ICU, and administrative areas. A complementation agreement with IPS allows for scheduled surgeries using the IPS operating rooms in the city, optimizing available surgical infrastructure. It is the mandatory reference point for emergency care in the Triple Frontier area. For foreigners living or traveling through eastern Paraguay, this hospital is the most accessible public health resource in the region.
