About Alberdi

Alberdi is a district of the Ñeembucú department situated on the bank of the Paraguay River in southwestern Paraguay. Its riverside position links it directly with fluvial exchange with the Argentine side of the river, reflecting the historical integration between both banks in this border zone. The local economy relies on livestock farming, river commerce, and fishing — activities typical of Ñeembucú's riparian districts. Like much of the region, the territory of Alberdi was connected to the military movements of the War of the Triple Alliance during the nineteenth century.
