About Villa Oliva

Villa Oliva is a district of the Ñeembucú department in southwestern Paraguay. Situated on the fluvial plain typical of the region, its territory combines grasslands and wetland areas characteristic of the Esteros del Ñeembucú system. Extensive cattle ranching and related rural economic activities sustain the district. As part of the Ñeembucú department, Villa Oliva belongs to a region marked by the history of the War of the Triple Alliance, which left an indelible imprint on the territory and the collective memory of its communities during the nineteenth century.
