About Emboscada

<p>Emboscada is a district with significant colonial history in northern Cordillera: during the colonial period it was home to a settlement of free people of African descent, known as libertos, established by the Spanish colonial authorities. This singular origin sets Emboscada apart within Paraguay's historical landscape.</p><p>Its location at the northern edge of the department, near the Paraguay River, gives it distinctive geographical features, and the district retains a local identity tied to this particular historical heritage.</p>
