About Santa Rosa del Monday

Santa Rosa del Monday is a district in the department of Alto Paraná that takes its name from the Monday River, a watercourse that runs through the interior of the department before emptying into the Paraná River. The river and its natural surroundings have given this municipality its geographical identity in eastern Paraguay. The district's economy relies on agricultural production, with soybeans as the predominant crop. As in much of Alto Paraná, the expansion of the agricultural frontier during the twentieth century defined the productive and social character of the area.
