About Areté Supermercados
Areté Supermercados is a 100% Paraguayan-owned supermarket chain founded in 2018, following the takeover and rebranding of the former Archi supermarkets. Its name blends the Guaraní word "arete" (a day of celebration) with the Greek "areté" (the pursuit of excellence). It is operated by Comercializadora de Alimentos Frescos S.A. (CAFSA) and positions itself in the mid-to-high-end segment, with a focus on fresh produce, variety and imported goods.
It is one of the reference chains for expats and investors when choosing where to shop in the Asunción metropolitan area. Its flagship store is at Paseo Cerro Alto, on Avenida Cacique Lambaré 9048, in Lambaré, with additional locations at Pinedo Shopping, on Avenida Primer Presidente and in the Sausalito area. It offers in-store shopping plus an e-commerce platform with delivery and in-store pickup.
