Restaurante Los Olivos is a restaurant set up in Loma Plata, an option for a meal while passing through this Central Chaco town, along the route of the Trans-Chaco Highway.
Loma Plata is the center of Menno Colony, the first Mennonite colony in the Paraguayan Chaco, founded in 1927 by families who arrived from Canada. It sits along the Trans-Chaco Highway, the road that crosses the region toward Bolivia, in a hot, dry area of thorn-scrub vegetation where Mennonite cooperatives sustain much of the country's dairy and cattle production.
