Yazaki Paraguay S.R.L. is the local subsidiary of the Japanese multinational Yazaki Corporation, one of the largest auto parts manufacturers in the world. It has operated in the country since 2014, with its plant installed in Mariano Roque Alonso, Central department, near the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport. It is dedicated to the manufacture of electrical wiring harnesses for vehicles. The company works exclusively under the maquila regime, with 100% of its production destined for export; its clients include manufacturers such as Renault and Honda in Brazil, and Honda and Toyota in Argentina. The plant generates employment for nearly 1,500 people and has planned expansions to increase its production capacity and workforce. Yazaki is part of the auto parts hub that consolidated in Paraguay under the Maquila Law, alongside other large Japanese firms and firms of diverse origin located in the Central department and Alto Parana, positioning the country as a regional exporter of automotive wiring.
