About General Hospital of Coronel Oviedo
The General Hospital of Coronel Oviedo is the largest high-complexity medical care center in Paraguay's interior, officially inaugurated on February 24, 2025. With an investment exceeding 151 billion guaraníes (approximately USD 22.2 million), the modern 20,000 m² medical complex benefits more than 600,000 inhabitants of Caaguazú and neighboring departments including San Pedro, Guairá, Caazapá, and Alto Paraná. It features 160 inpatient beds, 20 ICU beds, 28 emergency boxes, 30 consultation rooms, 6 operating rooms, imaging and rehabilitation services, blood production center, specialized laboratories, dialysis services, pharmacy, guest lodging, cafeteria, parking for approximately 1,000 vehicles, and a helipad for emergencies. In its first months of operation it already recorded over 160,000 medical consultations.
