Sodrugestvo Paraguay

Sodrugestvo Paraguay S.A. (SODRU) is the local operation of the international agro-industrial group Sodrugestvo, headquartered in Luxembourg and strongly linked to the Russian market. The company is dedicated to the purchase, processing and export of soybeans and oilseeds, with a wide variety of logistics operations and product distribution to end consumers. Although it already bought Paraguayan soybeans previously, Sodrugestvo has been officially present in Paraguay since 2014 and, despite its relatively short trajectory, quickly established itself as one of the country's largest soybean exporters: for three consecutive years it led the ranking of exporters, closing the 2017 harvest with about 16% of the market, and in subsequent years it remained among the top positions (around 17% in 2019, with some 812,000 tons shipped). The group has an annual demand of some 2.5 million tons of soybeans, which it acquires mainly in Brazil and Paraguay, the latter being increasingly relevant due to the quality of its product. Russia is one of the most important destinations for Paraguayan soybeans, and Sodrugestvo handles the entire logistics chain needed to ship the grain to that market. Its offices are located in Asuncion, in the World Trade Center complex on Avenida Aviadores del Chaco No. 2050, from where it coordinates its foreign trade operations oriented almost exclusively to the Russian market.
