An Itaipú Binacional biological reserve by the reservoir, in Hernandarias
About
Reserva Natural Tatí Yupí is one of the biological reserves managed by Itaipú Binacional on the right bank of the reservoir, covering 3,866 hectares in Hernandarias. It has recorded 39 mammal species, 286 bird species and 21 reptile species, along with a yvyraromi tree over 200 years old and about 30 meters tall.
The reserve offers guided walking and biking tours along its trails, plus docks, picnic areas with shelters, a playground and sports courts. It's an option for anyone looking to experience the Upper Paraná's Atlantic Forest without leaving Itaipú's tourism circuit.
