About Mbaracayú

Mbaracayú is a district in the department of Alto Paraná whose name derives from Guaraní. It is located in the Eastern Region of Paraguay, in an area where agricultural land use coexists with remnants of native vegetation. Soybean production and agribusiness form the economic base of the district, in line with the dominant productive profile of eastern Paraguay. As in other municipalities of the department, the colonization process of the twentieth century profoundly transformed the landscape and social structure of the area.
