<p>San Juan Bautista de Ñeembucú is a district of the department of the same name in southwestern Paraguay. Its designation reflects the Jesuit and Franciscan evangelisation tradition that shaped the colonial settlement of Paraguay, adopted here to distinguish this locality from others of the same name in the country.</p><p>The district's territory combines natural grasslands and wetland areas typical of the Esteros del Ñeembucú.
