About San Lázaro

<p>San Lázaro is a district in the department of Concepción, in northern Paraguay's Región Oriental. Its name comes from the Christian calendar of saints, a tradition of religious naming common among rural municipalities in Paraguay's interior founded during the colonial and republican period.</p><p>Extensive cattle ranching and family farming sustain the district's economy. The city of Concepción, the departmental capital and river port on the Paraguay River, acts as the main services and commerce hub for the districts of northern Paraguay.</p>
