About Capitán Bado
Capitán Bado is a district in the Amambay department, located in the southeastern part of the department on the border with the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The main town faces the Brazilian city of Coronel Sapucaia, forming a binational border crossing with the commercial activity typical of twin cities in northeastern Paraguay. The setting combines the landscape of the Amambay mountain range with extensive agricultural and ranching land. Border trade and cattle ranching are the main economic pillars of the district, which shares with the rest of Amambay a strong Guaraní cultural heritage and the everyday cross-border reality that defines this part of Paraguay.
