Capiatá is the second most populated city in the Central Department and one of the largest in Paraguay, with 236,999 inhabitants according to the 2022 Census, located approximately 20 km east of Asunción along Route 2. Historically classified as a dormitory city of Greater Asunción — the vast majority of its residents work in the capital — in recent decades it has developed its own industrial profile, with industrial parks, manufacturing plants, warehouses, and logistics activity that position it as one of the productive corridors of the Central Department.
