About Carayao
Carayao is a district in Caaguazú department whose name, of Guaraní origin, forms part of the toponymic heritage that defines Paraguay's geography. The district is part of the department's rural zone, a region of high agricultural productivity in the center-east of the country. Economic activity centers on soybean and maize cultivation, the pillars of Caaguazú agriculture, alongside cattle raising. Carayao maintains an essentially rural character, with a community built around farming in the department's interior.
