About Loma Plata
Loma Plata is the seat of its namesake district and the historic home of Colonia Menno, the first Mennonite colony established in the Paraguayan Chaco. Its founding in the late 1920s marked the beginning of the colonisation process that would transform the central Chaco. The Menno cooperative has made Loma Plata a regional benchmark for dairy and beef production. The city retains a cultural identity shaped by Mennonite tradition, visible in its orderly layout, community institutions and active cooperative life.
