About Teniente Esteban Martínez

<p>Teniente Esteban Martínez is a district of the Presidente Hayes department whose name honours an officer of the Paraguayan armed forces. It is located in the southern Chaco, on the same low-altitude plain that characterises the entire department.</p><p>Like other districts in the Chaco interior, it has a low population density, with scattered rural settlements and an economy based primarily on extensive cattle ranching across open fields.</p>
