About Cerrito
Cerrito is a district located in the Ñeembucú department in the far southwestern corner of Paraguay. It is part of the system of wetlands and marshes that distinguish this region, where proximity to the Paraguay River defines the natural conditions of the territory. Livestock farming and artisanal fishing are part of the daily life of its residents. The broader region preserves the historical memory of the War of the Triple Alliance, a conflict that left a deep mark on the local identity of Ñeembucú during the nineteenth century.
